Claiseach

£5.50

Meaning furrows in Scottish Gaelic, Claiseach is a simple hat pattern with garter stitch detail up each side. Knit as either a beanie or a slouchy hat it is a fantastic way to show off those special yarns, especially speckled and variegated yarns. It has four sizes with beanie and slouchy versions for each and instructions on how to adjust the length to suit yourself.

The pattern is fully written instructions and also includes a photo tutorial for a super stretchy cast on called the Estonian Cast-On for the start of the hat. The pattern has been tech edited and test knitted. There’s a screenshot of the pattern, and a list of the stitches used at the bottom of the photos.

The white speckled hat is shown in the Adult Slouchy size and the teal hat is shown in the Child Beanie size.
