When I started working on my Elemental Mitts patterns I knew I wanted to make a fifth pattern which combined the colours of the other four and here it is! Na Ceithir Dùil means the four elements in Scottish Gaelic – the perfect name for my final elemental mitts!
Na Ceithir Dùil combines stripes of colours with slipped stitches to give gentle waving stripes across the back of the hand. They’re quick and fun to knit and give a really dramatic look to the mitt! You can see what my testers did with them down below! A couple of my testers generously offered to knit sizes too big for them to help me out!
You can get 25% off Na Ceithir Dùil with the code FourSale until 11.59 pm (UTC) on the 27th of February 2024. The pattern is also on LoveCrafts and Etsy!

I’ve really come to enjoy releasing hats for my last pattern of the year. They knit up quickly, figuring out the crown is challenging but fun and you can do so much with them! From October to March, I wear hats every time I go out and love having plenty of hats to choose from!
Matching cowls are always fun and I managed to get the Adult sized hat and the Adult sized cowl out of the same two skeins of yarn which is a big bonus!
You can get 25% off Flist Hat and Cowl with the code ShowerSale until 11.59 pm (UTC) on the 12th of December 2023. The pattern is also on LoveCrafts and Etsy!

I loved the ribbed pattern on Tar-Sgàil Socks so much that I couldn’t resist using it for mitts as well! The design is similar to Aisneach Mitts with the ribbed columns wrapping around the side of the hand, but also look great if you swap the mitts over and show more of the pattern on the back of the hand.
Tar-Sgàil Mitts also feature two columns of rib that run up and surround the thumb gusset for a gorgeous extra detail. I love how the lines swoosh around the gusset!

For Socktober this year, I wanted to design a sock that would be great for everyone. I wanted a pattern that was gender neutral and something with a bit of ribbing so gifted socks would get a great fit – even if you aren’t quite sure about their size!
I found this crisscrossed pattern done on a stockinette background, but I looked at it and thought it would make a fantastic rib pattern! It’s a super easy pattern to remember so you can focus on the sock without having to check the chart constantly. They’re a perfect relaxing project!

When I set out to design this shawl, I knew I wanted to use two colours, but I didn’t really want to do stripes or something I’d done before. So I thought about it for a while and landed on something I’d never done before – mosaic knitting!
Looking through my books for ideas, I was particularly struck by how many resembled masonry patterns and I decided to use that as my starting place. I wanted something that would be easy to knit but still interesting for the main body and something that would be really striking for the border.
I picked a pattern that looked like “normal” brickwork for the main body – it’s technical name is stretcher bond – I love the combination of textures there too! And the border pattern is herringbone. If you’ve never done mosaic before, it’s super easy. You use one colour at a time in stripes and use slipped stitches to create the gorgeous patterns!
You can get 25% off Breigichean with the code BrickSale until 11.59 pm (UTC) on the 22nd of August 2023. The pattern is also on LoveCrafts and Etsy!

Sometimes I start working on a design with the complete vision of what I want to make in my head. This was not one of those times. I had a general idea. I wanted socks. I wanted an all over pattern. I wanted something light and summery, and preferably something that looked good with speckles! So I set out on a quest to make it happen!
I found this beautiful texture pattern that reminded me of little flowers. It was spaced out with a few rows of stocking stitch but when I started knitting my socks the pattern felt too dense, so I added a couple more plain rows, recharted my toes and started again!
I absolutely love how the pattern turned out! It’s light, summery, and looks awesome in a speckled yarn! If you don’t knit the leg long, they also make fantastic shortie socks like one of my testers made! I named the design Dìtheanan because in makes me think of a wild flower meadow, or daisies on a lawn!
You can get 25% off Dìtheanan with the code FlowerSale until 11.59 pm (UTC) on the 18th of July 2023. The pattern is also on LoveCrafts and Etsy!

This shawl is the epitome of “if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again”. I absolutely loved the idea for this shawl when I came up with it. A curved asymmetrical triangular shawl with a lace pattern that grew proportionately as the shawl grew. It was fantastic. All I needed was the right lace pattern and it would be easy, right?
Wrong. The problem was keeping the lace pattern growing nicely without losing the shape of the shawl. I tried and failed in 2022. That shawl evolved and became Driùchdan, so it wasn’t all wasted effort. The idea was still nagging at me though and I really wanted to make it work this time!
I’m reusing this gorgeous “trellis” lace pattern – I’ve used it a few times but not since 2019 so I think it was time for another outing. It took me a couple of tried to figure out how to keep the shape while growing the size of the lace pattern, as my Patreons can attest, but it was worth it and I’m so happy to share it with you at last!

When I started working on this design I wasn’t really sure what to do, but I knew I wanted to do something I hadn’t done with a sock before. I went through my books and I found this gorgeous twisted rib pattern!
I made a few tweaks, changed a couple of decreases and adapted it to flow up from the toe of the sock. On the foot the pattern makes me think of flowing water and crashing waves!
As you move past the heel to the leg, the pattern is mirrored across the leg. The first full repeat reminds me of Cailleach-Oidhche and owls, and the last repeat where in flows into the cuffs reminds me of a stag’s head. I decided they needed a name which combined all these images, so I picked the name Fiadhta, which means wild and fierce in Scottish Gaelic. Isn’t it perfect?
You can get 25% off Fiadhta with the code FierceSale until 11.59 pm (UTC) on the 23rd of May 2023. The pattern is also on LoveCrafts and Etsy!

It was a cold day back in January when I started working on this design so wintery weather was definitely on my mind! When I was looking for the perfect lace for a new cowlette I rediscovered this little arrow lace which has been a favourite of mine for a long time!
I decided to use it, but then I had to figure out what to do next. That was when I remembered Bestla – a shawl I designed in 2017. I really loved the lace I came up with then so I decided to adapt it for a triangular shape with a spine.
The name for Bestla came from a Norse Frost Giant and I already had frosted leaves and cold weather on my mind when I started the design process. Then I found this stunning skein of Eden Cottage Yarns Titus Fingering in Steel and everything came together!
