Haar – The Sea Mist

A grey shawlette with a textured body and wide lace border on a white mannequin. When I was growing up, we lived just inland enough that the haar didn’t reach us – it was, in fact, a key reason my parents decided not to live on the coast! Later on though, I lived in Aberdeen, and it was inevitable that at some point on a gloriously sunny day, the haar would come rolling in off the sea and mask everything in a deep grey mist. So when I was looking for a mist related name for a shawl to match my Ceò cowl, and I had this gorgeous grey yarn from Eden Cottage Yarns, Haar was the inevitable name that came to mind!

This was a fun shawl design. When I released Ceò, I had several people say they would love a shawl version, and since I’d already done a lot of the work already it was fairly easy to convert. I had to rework the border slightly for but that actually made it even simpler! So if you want a stunning, relaxing and easy to knit shawl, this is the one for you!

Already bought Ceò? Then you’re in luck – Ceò and Haar are part of a collection called From the Mists, and anything you’ve already spent on either of the patterns will be deducted from the total cost of the collection!
