Mànran - Flirtations and Fun!
In the year since I started knitting socks I’ve experimented with different styles and the really important thing I’ve learnt is that I do not like knitting plain socks! I don’t know how you feel, but stockinette for miles does not fill me with passion. I can knit a pair of socks in two to three weeks easily, but my last pair of vanilla socks took 2 months and it was a relief when I finally got them off the needles, so there will be no more vanilla socks here!
I do, however, like my socks to be a relaxing knit that I can knit while reading or travelling without having to check a pattern constantly or always be counting. I also have an overwhelming adoration for speckled yarns at the moment (with Dusty Dimples being one of my favourite dyers for said speckled yarns!) The result of these two things is my Mànran pattern! It’s got a pattern to keep you engaged but also has plenty of downtime and relaxing, and it works beautifully with speckled yarns, as well as semi-solids and tonals.
Meaning flirtation or dalliance, Mànran is my first flirtation with this stitch pattern. I have a second pattern (Gràdh) ready to be written up (and hopefully into testing next week!), a third pattern (Togair) has just jumped on to my needles, and another two are also planned! They’ll all be available individually and as an ebook and any pattern purchases made will be discounted from the collection price so you’ll never pay more than the maximum price for the ebook.
If you want to find out what I’m up to between blog posts you can keep an eye on what I’m up to on Instagram, or come and chat with me in my Ravelry group – I’d love to hear about what you’re knitting! If you’d like an exclusive 40% discount on future releases sign up to my newsletter – I only send out emails when I release a new pattern or am having a sale, so generally you’ll only hear from me about once a month.
