It seems I have a love for lace patterns that repeat and can be increased in size through a cowl, but that’s ok, I’m happy to own it! Stoor Worm is the third cowl pattern I’ve done in this style, joining Cashie and Lozent. Where Cashie is leaves and Lozent has a diamond pattern, Stoor Worm is scales!
I originally thought of these as dragon scales but Scottish legends with dragons are thin on the ground. Instead I went for the story of Assipattle and the Mester Stoor Worm which tells the story of how Orkney came to be!
